Please note that the MA Critics Circle Walter Haggerty
Scholarship has been postponed for 2017.
This award, for high school seniors from WMA and Northern CT who have
been accepted by any college leading to a degree in any of the arts, will
resume in 2018.
The scholarship categories are: theatre, music, dance,
writing, backstage, mime, painting, sculpting, choreographer.
The award was named in memory of Walter Haggerty, theatre
critic for In the Spotlight. Besides his family, Walt’s great love was theatre,
especially musicals. In particular, Walt was an avid supporter of community
theatre.
